Ha ha ha...this tutorial comes with a story! Yay! (and it is not really intended for educational purposes...). Ever since I was little I've like organizing this, though my mother tends to disagree when she sees the state of my workspace...organized chaos I tell her. So at rehearsal Amber gives me these boxes of tic tacs and I pour some lime and some lemon into my hand and walk back to my seeat between kat and blair. So of course I start to organize my tic tacs by quantity and color in the palm of my hand. Apparently Kat found this so humorus, she was close to tears. So, just for you, kat, This is a guide to how I eat colored candy and other food that can be catagorized.

First I find a place where I can work and dump out my materials:

Then I begin by organizing said materials into groups determined visually by color:

After separating them by color, next quantity is determined. Orange has the smallest quantity so each group shal not exceed the quantity of that group:

Next, I like to make a design that organizes the groups into that of an equal number, then seperate the extras, like so:

After seperating the extras I then organize them too!:

Then I start eliminating down in an orderly fasion. First the extras go, one row at a time:

Then I create design with the remaining material, focusing on color and pattern:

And from there I continue to eliminate based on color. Beginning with purple:

Then orange:

Then yellow and red:

and finally, my favorite, green! Green is special, so I make a new design, eat the center first, and then the adjacent corners:

voila!

Now you're done!

Hey again! Now it's time to learn how to comment on other people's journals! Does the fun never end???

Okay, so first get to your friends page. If you're not already there get to a page with a menu bar and hover over "journal", then hover an click on "friends". That should take you here:

Then, after reading the entries click "post comment" on the one you want to respond to. That takes you to their post like so:

Scroll to the bottom of the post where you see the text boxes (see above). From here you can enter your post, then, when finished, click the "post comment" button. that will take you here:

Click here and the post and your comment show pop up like so:

Great job, you've learned how to post comments on your friends journals!!

Now that you're all setup, you need to start adding some friends to your list. And I know that some of you that have gotten setup still don't know how to do this *cough*Amber*cough*...so here's how!
To start adding friends to your friends list follow these simple instructions:

First get to any page with a menu bar, then hover the cursor over manage, then hover and click on friends, like so:

That should take you here:

click on edit friends, that will take you here:

You can try it out by first adding me as a friend. My username is chic_greek_geek . enter that in the first column and choose my colors in the second and third! Then click save changes. It will take you to a page that asks if you want to see your friends page like this:

click on the link provided...this window should pop up...

There is also another way to add friends! Go to any page with a menu bar and in the upper right-hand corner, just below where you are logged in there a text box with the word search by it, followed by a category.

after clicking "search!" your browser should take you to this page:

Click on the add friend button. that will take you here:

First, pick the colors for the person you are adding, then click the "add theirusername" button!

this will take you here again!

click on the word "here" this will take you to your friends page! From here, you can read entries your friends have posted, and even comment on their posts! (to learn how to do this, see the next tutorial!

Say you just don't want someone on you friends list anymore, well we have a solution for everything here! First Hover over "manage" and "friends", like so:

That gets you here:

Then click on edit friends. That shold get you here:

then, you check the box to delete them from your list and then click save changes. That will take you here:

click on the word "here" this will take you to your friends page! From here, you can read entries your friends have posted, and even comment on their posts! (to learn how to do this, see the next tutorial!

Hey this is my tutorial for those who wishe to set up an LJ (I know most of you reading this already have one, but I need to tell Blair and Jen how and don't have the space for pics in my e-mail, so I'm emailing them a link to this journal...

first, go here: Live Journal!
you will see this page:

click on the word "create". Your browser will take you to this page:

Just know that the Username you pick will be your Live JOurnal identity, so make sure you like it!
Onward...once you have filled everything out, verified that you are over thirteen, agreed to the terms of service and verified that you are not a robot, click create! If your username is taken then you may have to fiddle with it. make sure you remember to watch the box at the bottom, and fill in the nubers and letters at the bottom of the page if needed...

Once your journal has been created, you'll see this page:

You will need to check your e-mail before continuing. You will have recieved an e-mail containing a link, click that link. It confirms that you just created a new journal! After that is done, click on the "edit personal info" button! (if checking your mail has taken you away from the original page shown above simple go here...

Either way you doit, you should end up here:

Click done when you are finished. From here, you can look at your journal, or your profile. Your journal will be in defaul mode...to change how it looks, click here:

That will take you here:

From here you need to select New System (S2) as stated above and click change...That will take you here:

1 Let you change the layout of your journal, for examples click the (previews) button, it will show you how journals look with each different layout. My preffered layout is generator, because it looks the cleanest.
2 Customize the Language (but I'd leave this alone if I were you...
3 Change the color Scheme of your journal. This changes which elements are which colors...my personal favorite themes are the default theme or the everblue with gray.
4 Clicking this lets you further customize specific colors and other elements of your journal...you can explore this once you get more comfortable...
5 This lets you choose a mood theme a mood theme is an icon that appears in your post that corresponds to your mood! Like this: Click modify journal and look at the list...

This page should pop up...You can scroll through or hit preview to see all the different ways to portray mood! After you've made all your changes you have the option of seeing your newly customized journal...but you have no entries in said journal to look at, so next, lets tackle updating (or posting!). From the page you are on (or any page the bar menu appears...this being the bar menu):

Hover the cursor over "journal" and then click the three dots following the word "update", like the picture above. This will take you here, to the extended post format:

Here you can type whatever you want to go into your journal! You can talk about anything, but don't forget to fill out your mood and music! =) Then click Update jouranl at the bottom and it will give you a link to your journal! Bask in a job well done, my friend!
